TFF: Bahis İddiasıyla 1024 Futbolcu PFDK’ya Sevk Edildi
Turkish Football Rocked as Over 1,000 Players Face Betting Probes
ISTANBUL, Türkiye — The integrity of Turkish football has been called into question after the Türkiye Futbol Federasyonu (TFF) referred an unprecedented 1,024 professional footballers to its Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) over alleged involvement in illegal betting. The bombshell announcement includes 27 players from the top-tier Süper Lig, among them prominent names such as Beşiktaş’s Ersin Destanoğlu and Necip Uysal, and Galatasaray’s Metehan Baltacı and Eren Elmalı.
The widespread investigation, which initially targeted referees, has now swept through the ranks of players across all professional leagues, creating a monumental challenge for clubs and the governing body. The TFF is scheduled to hold an extraordinary meeting on November 11 to address the unfolding crisis.
Emergency Measures and Denials
In a direct acknowledgment of the potential fallout, the PFDK announced immediate steps to mitigate the impact on clubs facing significant roster gaps:
“Due to the referral of 1024 footballers to the PFDK with precautionary measures, urgent discussions have commenced with FIFA to grant a 15-day transfer and registration period, exclusively at the national level, in addition to the 2025-2026 winter transfer window, to enable clubs to complete their squads.”
While Süper Lig and TFF 1. Lig matches are set to continue as previously scheduled, the TFF Management Board has decided to postpone or shift the fixtures for the TFF 2. Lig and TFF 3. Lig, indicating the severe disruption anticipated in lower divisions.
Among the players named, several have vehemently denied the allegations. Necip Uysal, a long-serving Beşiktaş captain, took to Instagram to issue a forceful statement:
Necip Uysal:
“Hayatım boyunca bahis ile hiçbir ilişkim olmadı. Oynamadım, bahis hesabım olmadı. Fikri aklımdan bile geçmedi”
“Yıllardır alın teriyle, emeğimle tertemiz tutmaya çalıştığım ismimin bu şekilde gündeme getirilmesine karşı tüm hukuki mücadelemi vereceğim”… pic.twitter.com/UbFVBpuERF

“I have never had any relationship with betting in my life. I have not bet, I have not had a betting account. The idea never even crossed my mind,” Uysal stated, vowing to pursue all legal avenues against the “slander.”
Beşiktaş goalkeeper Ersin Destanoğlu echoed a similar sentiment, stating:

“These claims against me are completely baseless, unfounded, and contrary to the truth. I will not allow myself to be judged publicly with unsubstantiated accusations in the face of these allegations of defamation.”
Beşiktaş Kulübü issued a statement expressing full confidence in its players and announced it would initiate immediate action with the TFF, adding that its footballers would file legal objections with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office the following morning.
