Fact-Checking Policy
Worldys News is committed to publishing information that is accurate, independently verified, and responsibly sourced. This Fact-Checking Policy defines how we test the reliability of every claim before publication and how disputed information is handled after publication.
1. Pre-Publication Verification
All stories undergo a verification process before release. Editors and fact-checkers evaluate whether each factual statement is supported by at least one of the following:
- Official records or government data
- Primary documents, filings, or transcripts
- On-record statements from verified sources
- Peer-reviewed or institutionally validated research
- Reporting from reputable agencies (Reuters, AP, BBC, etc.)
Material originating from external agencies is never published uncritically or verbatim. It is reviewed, rewritten in our own editorial language, and corroborated in line with Section 3 of our Editorial Guidelines & Ethics Policy.
2. Standards for Anonymous or Sensitive Sources
Anonymous sourcing is permitted only when the information is of public interest and the identity and credibility of the source are verified internally. Claims that cannot be internally substantiated are withheld from publication until sufficient corroboration exists.
3. Differentiation of Fact, Analysis, and Opinion
To prevent misinterpretation, Worldys News clearly separates factual reporting from interpretation. Analysis and opinion are labeled explicitly and may not contain unverifiable claims. Opinion writers are prohibited from presenting speculation as fact.
4. Use of Data, AI, and Automated Material
Where AI-assisted tools are used for drafting or research, all outputs are subject to human editorial verification. No AI-generated claim is published without evidence. Data-driven stories must include the origin of the dataset and, when possible, link to the source or methodology.
5. Post-Publication Review and Corrections
If new evidence contradicts published content or if readers or subjects of coverage raise credible concerns, the article is re-audited. Errors are corrected under the protocol detailed in our Corrections & Updates Policy.
6. Conflict of Interest and External Pressure
No correction or editorial revision may be made in response to intimidation, reputation management requests, or pressure from advertisers, political entities, or stakeholders. Only verifiable evidence can trigger an edit or correction.
7. Accountability and Enforcement
Compliance with this policy is monitored by editors and fact-checkers who are responsible for halting publication if verification standards are not met. Serious breaches are escalated under the authority structure outlined in the Editorial Guidelines & Ethics Policy.
