Conflict of Interest Policy
This Conflict of Interest Policy defines how Worldys News prevents personal, financial, political, or organizational interests from influencing editorial decisions, newsroom conduct, or published content.
1. Mandatory Disclosure
All editors, journalists, contributors, and contractors must disclose any relationship or interest that could reasonably be perceived as influencing their reporting, including:
- Financial investments in companies or topics they may cover
- Employment or consulting ties with organizations in their reporting scope
- Political party involvement, campaign work, or advocacy affiliations
- Personal or family relationships relevant to a subject of coverage
2. Assignment Restrictions
Individuals with a declared or suspected conflict may be reassigned away from coverage of the affected subject. Editors retain authority to deny publication when impartiality is compromised.
3. Prohibited Conduct
No staff member or contributor may:
- Engage in paid or unpaid advocacy for subjects they report on
- Accept gifts, favors, payments, travel, or incentives from sources
- Use access to confidential information for personal gain
- Coordinate editorial content with political or commercial interests
4. Sponsored and Partnered Content
Commercial partnerships cannot shape editorial decisions. Any sponsored material is labeled in compliance with our Advertising & Sponsorship Policy and must not be written by individuals with competing interests.
5. Anonymous Influence and Undeclared Interests
Attempts to conceal a conflict of interest, or to influence coverage through intermediaries or undisclosed relationships, constitute a breach of editorial ethics and may result in termination of association with Worldys News.
6. Enforcement and Transparency
Conflicts are reviewed by editorial leadership. Actions may include reassignment, disclosure tags, or rejection of content. Violations that materially affect published work may trigger review under the Corrections & Updates Policy or potential removal of content.
